Judging at National Photography Competition in May, 2009

Kent just came back from several days of judging at the Professional Photographers of Canada's (PPOC) annual image competition held in Regina, SK this year. With well over 800 images, feature albums and wedding albums submitted by professional photographers from across Canada, Kent judged on the Commercial panel with 6 other Master Photographers while 7 other Master Photographers judged on the Portrait/Wedding panel.

With over 50 accreditation submissions also needing judging, Kent and 3 other Master Photographers tackled this task in an all-day event. A national accreditation defines a professional photographer's ability to consistently produce above-average and diverse images in a chosen category (such as Wedding Story, Commercial, Architectural, Child Portrait, Sport).

Maximizing his efforts at the annual convention, Kent then helped Master Photographer, Terry Robertson of Ontario, run the annual PPOC Judging Clinic in which professional photographers learn the intricate and emotional art of judging image competitions at the regional, provincial and national level. This year was Kent's 6th year of involvement in the Judging Clinic.
